En me promenant à Aix-en-Provence au moment de Noël, j’ai vu cette belle façade. Mais mon attention a été attirée par cette parole de Gandhi, que je vous propose à l’occasion de cette nouvelle année.
Wandering in Aix-en-Provence, south of France, during Christmas holidays, I say this nice frontage. But my attention was catched by this saying of Gandhi, that I suggest to you for this New Year: "Happiness is in the eye of who is looking"..
Techdata : Nikon D70 first model with Nikkor 3.5-4.5/18-70 Pro ED at 31mm, 1/20s hand-held at f/10, Aperture-priority automatic, ISO 400, shadow white balance. In fact this image is the pasting of two separate photos in Photoshop CS3 Extended. The perspective of the two images was adjusted manually. Extensive use was made of the Clone Stamp Tool to complete the missing areas in the bottom photograph, and slight overall Sharpening was done in Lab Mode to add microcontrast.

Quelle belle surprise en cette fin d'année, dans cette dédicace et avec une photo pleine d'à-propos, pour, c'est vrai, le rêveur que je suis trop souvent, et l'utopiste incorrigible aussi. Cette citation de Gandhi me ramène aussi aux quelques livres que j'ai lu sur le Dalaï Lama, et sur mes expériences de voyages. Mes photos n'en sont qu'un pâle reflet, mais c'est vrai que le monde n'est souvent que la projection de ce qui se trouve en nous, et pour le voir beau et valant la peine d'être découvert et parcouru, il faut avoir à l'intérieur de soi cette petite parcelle de foi en la vie, en un avenir meilleur...Un grand merci à toi, Marie-Thérèse, du fond du coeur, et tous mes voeux pour que 2008 soit pleine de projets et de moments harmonieux, dans la chaleur de l'amitié. Jean-Luc ....et maintenant je clique sur 'add image' !!:-)

The evening light in this picture is particularly beautiful and this associated with the strong perspective effect on the vertical lines helps to some meditation around Gandhi's sentence. Excellent… and a serious performance to match exactly the two images because apparently it was a bit tricky.
Très belle façade en effet. La composition est très parti-prenante, presque risquée (d'avoir coupé le bas de l'immeuble). Je n'y aurai pas pensé spontanément. L'image est équilibrée et fait bien ressortir ce que tu souhaitais : l'enseigne et la parole de Gandhi. Une très bonne image à mon avis.
