California dreamin' on such a winter's day!
Sneak Factor = ZERO
These California Poppies were growing in a bed in the parking lot next to my office. Nobody would have cared if they HAD seen me taking this shot! Sorry. Some days are just dull, my friends. :)
When I was a kid, my grandparents had these everywhere, and I've always loved them.
This is another shot from last August. There's nothing to see here at this time of year, unless you like grey skies and rain and sodden vegetation.
........
BLUE SWEET PEA INFORMATION!!!
Here's a link for those of you who wanted to know how to get seeds for that blue sweet pea I posted the other day. CLICK HERE and look on the right-hand side of the page, third one down. It's called "Electric Blue."

excelente captura una bella luz amiga
They do brighten a cold winter's day.
I love California poppies too, and sometimes grow them in my garden. :o) Excellent image for winter blahs.
What a vibrant colour these little poppies are! Great shot.........(but I was hoping for a minor sneak, at least!) lol
These will cheer up your winter weather they are so cheerful looking and they make a great splash in the garden.
Terrific POV, clarity, colors and textural effects in this shot of one of my favorite flowers. If there were some growing nearby I would photograph them endlessly. And, the poppy is the state flower of California. Come to think of it, didn't Dorothy, Toto, the Lion, Tin man and Scarecrow run through a field of poppies on their way to Oz?
Awesome beauty in this fine composition from a great location by a favorite artist!
Excellent capture, want something more than grey come about a 100 miles it's been snowing off and on for about two weeks, all day today, we will have a white Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Excellent shot my friend !

You plant these things one year..the next year they are everywhere..ask me how I know this..:) thanks for the color..we need it this time of year...
I love them too and planted them in two spots in the backyard. They are now popping up in every spot in the backyard! They have millions of seeds that shoot everywhere when the pods are ripe. Still, how can you get upset with them when they are so very lovely? excellent capture.
The only poppies I know a very red and almost impossible to take a photo of them. Yours, on the other hand, look just great!
Wonderful reminder that spring is not so far. Great colour. Holiday cheer to ya ;-)
California dreamin is becomin a reality--I've read that when the very first people came into San Francisco Bay, they thought the hills were made of gold because they were covered in poppies!! The little pops of color that bring some beauty on such a winter's day!!
