Description
The image was produced using a 512 DEM file of Monument Valley. Special thanks to Tangled-Universe (Martin Huisman) for the use of his small stones/big cracked rocks clip file; and, to Buzzzzz (Jay Testerman) for his guidance in connection with the use of some of the vegetation used in the scene.
This file should yield some better scenes with a lower point of view; and, there are many in this region.
Thanks for your visit; and, for your suggestions for improvement.

Oh Yeah, the stratification in this is Very Realstic and the lrge view provides some very Amazing Details. Awesome Work Bob!!!! Merry Christmas!!!!!
Super terragen..fantastic surface and light!
absolutely gorgeous F
Beautiful place and lighting!
Marvelous vista! You're getting it together, Bob!
Looks like as it should be!
Realism at it's very best, Bob. I am glad that I was finally able to see the finished result! I love everything about it!
Must agree with C-fly. I love the distribution of plants, very awesome. The colors and scale are impressive.
Nice work!
101% art and mood is this superb southwestern landscape!!! Amazing detail and nice to know the resources used too!
agree with Darthmagus
Gorgeous render - and such a big sky! I think you are right, though - a lower POV might improve the view. Only a small thing but the shadow cast at centre is slightly distracting.
Awesome and fantastic scenery!!! Wonderful view!!!
Excellent terrain and surfacing/shading. Atmosphere still has some noise in it (more samples). White clouds in background a bit globular for me. But super desert scene.
Good Deep!
Looks great!
Excellent terrain and surfaces.
Very nice, great atmo and POV.
a superb shot Bob, there is so much to take in ... the 512 terrain base is exceptionally detailed, the pants are expertly placed as are the strata and surfaces i also love the distant clouds obscured slightly by the lower level ones ... the lighting too is well suited for the pov ... I look forward too seeing more from this world!
I know this place! The DEM files worked nicely!! A great place to camp!
Fantastic photo.
I think you did a fantastic work, Bob, as it is so hard to get the right textures for the rocks in the foreground! It is a wonderful view with a splendid sky and very realistic 'monuments' in the background!!!
Seems a bit too red on my monitor....the clouds look good but, I dunno...maybe the contrast is off or something...they just don't seem normal for some reason...still, I love the terrain and view but, overall....well your old TG .9 work was way better than this....sorry :(
Believe it or not, Bob - I think a lower view would benefit a better experience - yet this exercise shows the potential of TG2 with a little 513 heightmap... I have not yet done serious work with them yet, but soon... Thanks for the inspiration!
Thank you all for visiting. Yes, I agree with Markal; I was not satisfied with this image either ...back to learning!
I like the red color. And the depth is superb!
Agree, love the deep and the distant canyons. Perhaps the clouds are a bit too heavy?
I personally like the rich, deep reds here- combined with the excellent terrain features, I think it's a great scene. I agree there are many more great POV's in this one- I will look forward to seeing them all.
WOW Bob... incredible beauty. I find the 'red' rock/sand a delight to look at here. Fits the lighting and the terrain perfectly. I feel as if I'm looking at a photo... beauty...
Great render, Bob!
