Description
The Hill of Slaine is rich in Ancient history and mythology. Upon the hill and just behind the monastery is found the tumulus of Slane, King of the Firbolgs. This is the hill upon which Patrick lit the Paschal fire in defiance of the High King of Tara, Laoghaire, and his Chief Druid, thus bringing about the current Christian era. We have visited the hill many times, soaking in the energy and magick which exudes from the beautiful site.
