The Great Sphinx of Giza, my 500th upload
To celebrate my 500th upload we made a day-tour from the Island of Cyprus to the Pyramids in Egypt!!
The Great Sphinx of Giza is a large half-human, half-lion Sphinx statue in Egypt, on the Giza Plateau at the west bank of the Nile River, near modern-day Cairo. It is one of the largest single-stone statues on Earth, and is commonly believed to have been built by ancient Egyptians in the 3rd millennium BC. It is the earliest known monumental sculpture.
Thanks for viewing!!
Have a very nice day

Congratulations on number 500, Henk! This is a great choice for the milestone; excellent shot of the sphinx.
I think I also read that some scientists feel that it has been altered since it was erected at least twice because the privious face was not favored by the incoming ruler... :-) A fabulous shot and marker for your 500th upload!
Perfect shot for your 500th half a mile stone.
