Description
White Sands National Monument is a 581-sqkm gypsum duned desert in the Tularosa Basin, New Mexico. The average elevation is 4,000-ft. It is surrounded by mountain ranges and has no outlet to the sea.
The Park Ranger was giving a lecture on the ecology of this desert and its plant life.
This picture was taken in October 2004.
