Description
Aren't these pretty? The twisty drilling part is about half an inch long. I got all excited when I saw these, and couldn't resist taking a bunch of pictures.
I got home, found a shot I really liked, lined everything up nice and straight, and did the postwork necessary to make it black & white and just the way I wanted it.
When I was done, I sat back and looked at the result, and thought, "Hmmm. James would do this at an angle." So I started over, tilted the shot, re-did the postwork, and this is the result. I'm much happier with this version.
That process is one of the things I enjoy most about posting on Renderosity. I get all inspired by my fellow artists (awjay, in this case).
Thanks, James! :)

excellent macro tara brava
I like the effect!!!
Oh la la Tara, FANTASTICCCC! Such perfect and creativ abstract and + with a simple subject.... congratulations my friend!
An appropriate title, indeed. And all this time I thought pulchritude had something to do with lovely, well endowed gals. Love the POV, DOF, angle, lighting and reflectivity of these magnificent tools all lined up in a military manner. Also, tenuous inertia in this most dynamic shot considering the possiblility of these beautifully stacked drills and bits may go sliding off the table at any moment.
Cool items, excellent capture and work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really need to become more creative, this is very interesting and a very nice shot!!!! The tilt is right on.
I have many drill bits but this looks like a computer driven machine that makes many holes at the same time, like pegboard.excellent work
I think your decision to tilt was brilliant. Great work ... and a nod to James for the inspiration!
i am a industrial mechanic and i love the pulchritude, good PoV, excellent capture.
Yes the tilt just makes it different and out of the ordinary. Excellent shot and I like the shine it has.
I really like the B&W, and the tilt. But what are they?
I love the way you tilted this shot. those bits are itty bitty. nice shot
...excited ehh ?.......by all those little phallic symbols x 100 ......quite a nice job with the postwork and presentation in B&W !
Oh yesssss! Both ideas work splendidly with this capture, Tara. Simply love it! Always a sucker for the monochromes, I am :)
The tilt is good!!! Wonderful Pic!!! Congrats on LWITG!!!
