About:
------
After many years (yes YEARS!), I finally got the "Decotech Modular Prop Pack" the other day, which is a scifi set construction kit for use with Poser.
This pic started out as my first ever play with it after I bought it. I found it easy to work with since I've been using other 'construction kit'-like sets for awhile now over the years.
The scene itself didn't take long to create in P6 and I made it expressly with a view to later lighting it how I wanted and it was always just going to be a bare scene. - I only added in the female figure later on to give the image some 'story' and perhaps because I like strong women characters too. ;-P
The scene (apart from the fem) is all 100& Decotech and I only darkened the flooring in P6 to suit my scene. - The screen graphics are extras in Decotech but have to be manually applied.
Lighting scenes in any version of Poser gives me the willies. It's good for portraits n' stuff but I prefer Vue for lighting how *I* want, especially lighting for feel.
I had fun lighting this and the results usually are good in Vue renders, though (would you believe!) the female bounty hunter looks MUCH better in P6 than here!? - I'll probably make some images just of the fem in P6 because I like her tough look, but especially for her natural face created by A_.
The image is mainly for my desktop but works okay on its own I guess.
Anyway, here 'tis for you.
Z.

Cool composition.
Very nice lighting study. If you like Vue to render in Vue, check out the VPI storyboards on my gallery, which are all posed in Poser 7 and rendered in Vue 6. I have similar experience as you with Poser - actually I like working with lighting in it, but the crippled renderer makes it a silly exercise to go through. The nice look the poser renderer often gets seems due (frankly) to the fact that it CAN'T work really well with lights/shadows, textures/etc. and thus a high level of softness is always present. Consider your Vue lights to be real physical world lights, but with the advantage that you can dial in your shadow softness etc.. After a short while, you will be able to achieve results you love far more than Poser.
