Here is a not so great shot of a wild looking little critter that is maybe 1/2" long and very skittish. I have seen several as they fly away and got close enough to try for a shot just a few times. They have eyes that are definitely weird, lol.
Thanks to those who take the time to comment.

i think it is a great shot lee infact it is beautiful yep as beautiful as it can get for a bug thats for sure fantastic macro work!!!
Definitely weird eyes! I am getting out the ruler right now, to see just how small 1/2 inch is! (Dang that's tiny!)
Those eyes are really something! The whole bug is amazing. Nature can be very odd, can't it. Great shot again, Lee.
It must be very successful at finding food judging by the plumpness of its abdomen! Super pic!
It is beautiful! Super shot!
Absolutely gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!bravissimo!:DDD.Hugsxx Whylma
The eye of this little critter reminds me of an old drawing with an Inca Sun, they draw it round with points depicting the ray's. Like you say Lee, the eyes are definitely weird. Yet another new one for me. Excellent image. Bravo!!!!!
The eye sure is weird very beautiful like a kaleidoscope
The eyes make it look like it is from outer space or something....very good pic!
I think it is great , gorgeous . Thanks for sharing , Ana
It looks like it's got stars in it's eyes! Gorgeous capture and excellent DOF. Bunny
beautiful bug and macro. I seen one that was larger but when I approached it was gone like lightning
Yup, those eyes are definately weird looking! Actually a strange looking critter in general....but what is amazing is how they have evolved over time to suit their environment.
great macro
