Description
My first attempt at color selection. Not my best dragonfly, but I loved it because he is waving! lol. The background (My garage door), was distracting and I couldn't figure out how to focus less there and more on the dragonfly. So when I saw a tutorial on color selection I thought I'd give it a try. And here are the results...

Well the tutorial did some good, because this is so good. He almost looks like a visitor from outer space, with a big smile on his face as he waves hi! - don't you think? Excellent photography!!
Well, your color selection is perfect ! It was a good idea to do this to focus the attention on the dragonfly. Maybe you should have selected the flower too. But this is just mu opinion :-) Have a great day Virginie
Your attempt at color selection works wonderfully here. I've been fiddling around with it a bit myself and have become addicted to using it; selective coloring opens up so much of an image, as it does here. I am sure that the garage door in the background left alone would have worked well, but I do agree that it's better this way, since your focus is drawn directly to the dragonfly, which IS the center of your focus. It's well captured and I love the wave! The colors you left alone are fantastic!
A masterful job! I have yet to try this selective coloring but I mean to this weekend. You really have done a marvelous job with this one.

It appears Mister Dragonfly enjoys hanging on for dear life from any kind of foliage it comes into contact with. You did a pretty good job depicting the winged insect, with its head, thorax and segmented tail hanging vertically, contrasted against the blurred background.
