What I saw in the mirror
This may be my favorite picture of all time. I saw this man who I would guess to be in his early 50’s with long matted hair and a beard. Riding right towards me on his bike. I was sitting in my car writing a poem “ I had a dream 2, coming soon “ he had everything he owned tied to his bike. Every worldly asset this man owned was tied to his bike. I don’t even know how he could ride it with so much junk on it. I wanted his picture but I didn’t want to embarrass him by taking it like I thought he was a freak or something. So I waited until he passed and then I took his picture in my car mirror. This picture strikes me so deeply because my whole life I have always felt that I am one incident from being that man on the bike. One simple little twist of fate and that could be me. I doubt if this man knows what he is going to eat or where he is going to sleep tonight. He is a vagabond.
I have so many people that love me that I doubt if they would let me get this far gone but he probably thought the same thing too. I think when this man was a child he never thought I want to be homeless when I grow up. Something had to happen in his life to make him end up there. When I see this picture it makes me very sad that anyone has to end up here.
I know I really went on with this picture but I just wanted you to see what I saw when I looked in the mirror today. Vaggabondd

it is a sad fact of life my friend but it defies belief that in this day and age with all the riches in the world that there are still homeless people men ,women and children .that there are millions starving hungry in this world and yet the rich get richer and the poor well lets just say at this given time there is no hope for them .it grieves me so when all this is happening in the world and yet all our leaders want to do is flex their muscles and goto war or spend billions on weapons that will eventually destroy this wonderful world we live in .sorry about the rant but your pic and words provoked a reaction in me :o)..excellent mick
Who knows Randy maybe he's happier than you...no rent, no car to fuel, no bills to speak of, looks lean....just looking on the positive side....good shot.

You just never know, do you? He could be any number of people, but your capture and your words sure make us think!!!
Thank god, that not everything we see in the mirror must be a reflection off ourself. Sometimes I feel like this is the way to live, not many things to care about, free to wander off. But thankfully since it´s winter soon, I got the warmth and comforts of a home.
i dont know what i liked more your pic or story they both come together to make a powerful story and heartfelt image!!.... thank you for sharing this!!
