Description
Curtiss produced a number of biplane designs for both the US Navy and Army between the World Wars. Two are in this photo. The BFC-2 was a 1930s effort originally designated a "fighter" (F) but was switched to the divebombing role (B) making for the rather unusual designation of BFC-2.
In the background is the gigantic and famous NC4 that flew the Atlantic (but not nonstop)in 1919. Barely visible beneath the NC4's wing is a Boeing F4B fighter.
Of course this picture was taken at the Naval Aviation Museum at Pensacola NAS, Florida.

Great shot. I was wondering what the HUGE one behind it was. Didn't recognize it at all. Love the bright colors - must of been a thing in the 30's. RAF Fighter Squadrons all had bright colors as well. Different for each squadron if I recall. Love it.
