Description

Nikon 7900 image. I was looking at a group of mushrooms today and trying to decide if I wanted to take a pic or two when I noticed several small flying critters who seemed interested in it also. I managed to get a few shots of them and this is the best of the bunch. I do not know what this bright eyed bug is but I suspect it is a fly of some sort. It was about the size of a very big mosquito, but instead of a blood sucking needle at the front, it had this funny little button nose thingy, lol. Thanks to those who take the time to comment. Lee

And how nice it was of it to land on something that went so well with the pink of the shroom. :-) the eyes are a brilliant color and it is a strange bug. An inspiring shot.

Could it be a relative of the 'Hoverfly' Lee, they have a funny button thing similar to this and they have a striped back something like a wasp, this looks to have stirpes as well. Whatever it is, it's a great capture thats for sure. Beautiful colours.

Really nice contrast with the underside of the mushroom...it does look somewhat like a hoverfly variety.
