Description
Some of these floats stands pretty high up. If you look carefully, you will see two men on the floats roof top. They are there to prevent the wires from hitting the floats by using a wooden pole to lift the wires up. Some times a few mistakes will happen and things come falling down. I love your line about a "few mistakes will be made", I can just see all those things on the floats come down. One of the things I find so interesting about these is the combination of the very traditional and the funny stuff like the bunny and the hamburgers!! I'm sure there's a very good reason for it, but it makes great image. Is this in Hawaii?

That made me laugh. You certainly see a lot of fun things where you live. It's a great float and I especially like the men having to shove the wires out of the way. That's the kind of thing that happens with Spanish floats too and they fall to bits all the time. In some of the fiestas they burn huge effigies too.
