Description

In all my rides and walks to the beach, I watched probably hundreds of surfers. They're a very patient bunch, sitting and waiting for that perfect wave. Not only that, these guys (and maybe a girl or two, you sure can't tell from this distance!!) were out before sunrise. I know enough about surfing that it gets in your blood and and it's never too early, too cold or too small, you just get in and get wet. Who knows, maybe that next set has THE wave!!

You got to give the credit for the early wake-up. Beautiful capture. Aloha

I don't get the attraction, but it makes for great photography! (I suppose they don't get why we all sit on the computer looking at other people's photos, either. Viva la difference!)

When I lived in San Clemente, my brother-in-law would wake up each morning just before dawn, grab his board and hit the waves for an hour then come home, get dressed and go to school. Every morning. On weekends he would spend 2 hours surfing and then plan out his day with other things. This is a very familiar scene for me having lived on 2 coasts for much of my life. Great shot.

Perhaps they were pondering why anyone would want to stand on the beach with a camera at sunrise instead of grabbing a board! Another great shot of your beach, nice of you to share it!

Wow great shot! This brings back a few memories sitting out back waiting. The only thing that used to worry me at those times were the bloody sharks. Came face to face with one once, that was one of the reasons I gave up surfing.
