Description
I have a strangely large number of Franz Kafka shots and this is one that brought back a flood of memories for me. Not so much because of the picture itself but because of the totally accidental capture of a splatter of spilled wax, looming nearly dead center. I suspect that Franz himself would be amused that a rakish homage to him also features a rather generous dollop of spilled wax. Kafka himself made a good model though, he was infinitely cooperative, if a bit quiet.
As always, thank you for viewing and I hope you enjoy this photo as much as I enjoyed making it.

FANTASTIC CAPTURE & COMOSITION !!!!!
This is a very beautiful image - so full of atmosphere and mood. Bravo!
What will be my fate as a writer is very simple. My talent for portraying my dreamlike inner life has thrust all matters into the background; my life has dwindled dreadfully, nor will it cease to dwindle. Nothing else will ever satisfy me. –August 6, 1914 Wonderful tribute to a great, great writer!!!
What a beautiful composition !! One of the finest stillifes I´ve seen here!!
another touching capture and great tribute! Kafka is really very popular with reading public in Russia
WONDERFUL image! Trés belle idée, bien executée.. Une oeuvre d´art... J´adore!

Awesome work Chip, love it!
So Franz was a bit quiet, eh ? :o) loved your intro and nice pic ~
This shot is truly fantasticly vivid, and Kafka looks pretty well alive! Excellent composition and capture my friend :) 5 stars+ a fav ;)
Fantastic work > Superb Image . Bravo ! I love Kafka .
Excellent
I don't have your way with words, but this is brillianty composed, right down to the special touch with the candle and, of course the splash of wax (so that's what I was looking at and wondering about). A homage such as this should take away some of his Angst about the world being an impersonal mechanism with hapless human beings adrift in it.
Love this composition!
