I took these yesterday and by far is the best macros of my gulf fritillarys.I was fortunate when I waited the butty out and it landed 3 times close to me.it obviously loved the nectar from the particular flowers because there was another large area with more flowers

LOL. I was just thinking to myself recently how yet another picture of the same bugs and such I have shown before, will be accepted by regular viewers. Apparently if my images are as good as these, the answer is " with a positive appreciation". Thanks for sharing these excellent images. Lee

Beautiful flies, bright and bold colors. Very lovely shots Richard.
Outstanding shot!! I'm always impressed by your captures. Just amazing.
Magnificent photos Richard, they truly are so superb. You must have the patience of Job sometimes to wait for just that right moment.
Personally I don't believe a word of it. You may be patient but you are not that patient. I know you have them trained to poise on demand! Sit, roll over, play dead! That sort of thing!
I don't think it's possible that I could ever tire of seeing these gorgeous macros of yours, Richard. Nope, nope, simply impossible! Lovely! :)
