Description
A loyal Legion of Space Marines, the Raven Guard were part of the Loyalist force of marines massacared on Istvaan V along with two other Loyalist Legions when the four other legions that were supposed to be supporting there attack on Horus' traitor legions turned against them (they had been secretly turned to the Chaos cause earlier by Horus).
Caught between there foes and the Legions they had sought support from, the Raven Guard and the two other loyalist legions were more or less butchered, some reports saying as few as five loyal marines survived, in any event it was a massacre.
The shattered remains of the Raven Guard were rebuilt as quickly as possible by the Legions Primarch, Corax, but in the process he ended up creating many monsterous abominations as he exerimented with gene-seed zygote exelleration (gene-seed is used to make new marines from recruits).
Corax succeeded in rebuilding his shattered Legion while the remains of the Legion in the meantime practiced small behind the lines actions owing to there small numbers.
After the Heresy, Corax personally went and destroyed each and every one of the monsters he had created in the process of rebuilding the Legion, praying for their souls as he did so. He never forgave himeself for what he had done, and eventually departed for the Eye Of Terror, where he disappeared.
His last words on leaving the Legion's homeworld were, fittingly enough, a simple, "Nevermore..."
Well another black texture... oh and the backpacks for the previous Legion featured the Salamanders should have been black not green, it's been corrected.
Thanks always for your kind support ^^
