Description

This is a view of Rochdale Town Hall(rear) on the carpark. This was taken a couple of Sunday's back, Rochdale Rotary Club held an arts and crafts market on the rear carpark, I attended with my wife and a few friends from 'The Heads Together Group' who had a stall. The roumor has it that the Town Hall was on Hitlers 'Don't bomb list'. He wanted it preserved so that he could take it back to Germany when he won the war. The reason he wanted it was because it's architecture and for the stained glass windows. Now I have been inside the Town Hall quite a lot(I worked for Rochdale Council) but I have never taken my camera inside so do not have any pictures of the stained glass.(might be a future project). I may be missing for a few days as I have to dimantle 'My Sty' for redecorating. The builders are due in this week to replace the ceiling and plaster the walls. So I will have to catch up with you all later. Thanks for stopping by for a look and for any comments you care to make. May the sun shine down on you where ever you are.

Hate the building but love the stained glass. There is always a way to reconcile guilt with desire. Humming the Horst Wessel hymn as I peruse this.

A wonderful shot, love the clock tower, Jeff. Boy, would I like a mooch round these stalls! A series of shot from inside would be a wonderful future project for you. I adore stained glass. this is a great building it has real presence ,there are some real gems in some towns and this has got to be one of them jeff ,great pic as always mick
