Description
Mt. Iwaki is 1625 meters or approx 5,331 ft high above sea level. Because of its resemblance to the famous Mt Fuji, it has been given the nickname Tsugaru Fuji. Part of the way up is by car thru a winding road, then by ski lift and last...hike your way. I did not plan to do any hiking on this day nor was I equipped with the proper wear. The clouds were moving in and out making it hard to take a photo at times. I have never been on a ski lift before so...up I went. Aloha and thank you for viewing

thats some climb even on a ski lift ,love the way the eye is drawn up to the top by the ski lift mick
FANTASTIC ;)
amusing story and nice image. the pov is interesting and the "ski"lift anyway...is there really a ski-run? (probably a stupid question)
Not a stupid question as I was wondering the same thing myself. As far as I could see, there was vegetation almost everywhere... Thanks for asking. Aloha
da_franze....There is no ski-run on this side of the mountain. But at a lower elevation level, there is one. Not a stupid question my friend as I was expecting to see a ski area myself when I had reached the top. Thanks for asking. Aloha
I am sure by the time you managed to get to the top, the sight must have been incredable, even though the weather was not to anyone's desire. Thank you for sharing. egmont
Wow thats some place and a cool shot. Those types of lifts always freaked me out, lol.
This is a long sky lift. Like a way you place that on a side lead us to the top.
Great POV and colour here. Superb shot
Ooops...I should have said the top of the ski-lift.... Aloha
A wonderful capture, Errol The mist gives much mood to this capture. It looks quite cool up there.. Aloha. Diane.
A super vanishing point with the lift. Great cropping. Perfect timing with the clouds. It really gives the picture a bigger perception of height. Excellent job again my friend. I would love to be in Japan again. I still have my Mt. Fuji walking stick. :)
it seems like the german alp, nice to see it, ähem! lg. lordlotte
wonderful shot. first time.. they are so much fun and this one looks great... hope you had fun...
glad you survived and presented this wonderful image.
I never been on an open ski lift either. did go up on a closed lift in New Mexico. outstanding vista Errol
It does make for a relaxing ride and you get to see so much, must have been fun:):):)
Nice shot for sure and I would love to take the ride to the top.
it seems a geat plae nice vegetation I think bravo
Beautiful. I'll bet it looks equally beautiful with snow.
Interesting place, great shot!
Nice POV for sure. The vanishing point of the ski lift helps give scale, I also like how it leads the eye into the wisps of mist.
Neat shot, I bet the ride offered quite a view. Looking forward to more.
A wonderful shot and story. Congrats on your ski lift adventure. This really looks to go at a very steep angle.
Seems to go on forever. What an adventure you're having!!
Great shot! ;)
Fabulous POV, very interesting... great shot Errol!
The view up there promises... go on.
Great clarity and composition in this shot, Shark! Amazing POV of this awesome junior version of Mt Fujiyama. The ski lift and sky portions of the capture is fascinating all by itself. Can we say, STEEP? Sayonara!
I looked UP ...then DOWN .. since I can't manage to be able to handle even the rungs of a 6' ladder ...this vision is uncomprehendable L What a terrific view you must have had! Wonderful shot sharky! TY for sharing
