Description

This was modeled in Silo. I played around with it a bit there but later decided to take the base into ZBrush for the real work. So, here you have it. Thanks goes out to DINGBATS, WINGDINGS and other seemingly useless fonts I found on the net. Without you, the pretty details wouldn't be there! :) So here's the run down: I created the base in Silo. Loaded it into ZBrush. Then subdivided it about 4 times. In Photoshop, I created a black filled document and created white type in it, using the Dingbats mentioned earlier. These images were saved as PSD files and imported into ZBrush as alphas. I then used the Standard Brush with the Drag Rect option to draw the PSD images directly on the surface of the mesh as a displacement. Painting ensued. Crazy, crazy painting. A render was made and then screen grabs taken. These screen grabs were adjusted in Photoshop to enhance color and give that annoying but still cool glow.

I really like the shape. Textures look great. Maybe add a gold trim to the arm and neck openings.
