Description
FINALLY!!! I've been anxious to find a heron ever since getting my Rebel XTi, and yesterday turned out to be my opportunity. He didn't do much, but he stayed with me for quite some time, seeimingly unaffected by my obvious presence. There were VERY limited angles on this log, that is if you consider posion ivy & poison oak as limitations, and I definitely do *heh heh* This spot seemed the ONLY place I could get off the road along this whole stretch to get anywhere near the water, and where I was first standing, all I could get were heron feet & reflections in the water. Not until I moved further away did I find the vantage that afforded this view, which was fairly open, and the bird didn't seem to mind at all. I was hoping he'd fish for me, but alas, there was no action to be caught. Still, I'm happy.

A great first, congrats! He seems happily warming himself in the afternoon sun.
