Description
Nikon 7900 image.
Yesterdays posting got so much attention, I decided to get a shot of the top side of this very pregnant spider and I also wanted to include some reference point so people could get a concept of the size of this spider; so I put one finger against the web and right beside her.
The male of this species is much much much smaller. I have several shots of one but not a good one yet.
The remains of the unlucky Dragonfly from yesterdays posting have been consumed and the carcass discarded. As can be noticed by looking at her web, there has been a steady supply of bugs who have fallen into her clutches. In todays image, she has a grasshopper wrapped and ready.
Thanks to those who take the time to comment.

Another great image.... but now you can be identified by your fingerprint...LOL. I stuck my finger in a shot today, to show the size of a flower... Your picture is much, much better, and definately more interesting!
Great capture...
WOW Thats a superb shot!!! :O)
A great shot.
Wow, what a perfect shot of this spider! Beautiful color and clarity and pov. Pretty, I must say too. I saw one quite similar to this once; I named her Charlotte (... remember Charlottes Web? ... ) fav childhood story. :)
Awesome shot. Great details and colors. Umm very brave of you. I wouldn't have my fingers so close! I've a hostile spider outside my door right now and everytime I get close enough it starts shaking the web.
Stunning shot of this small spider. So very well done!
A superb capture and I love the way you have included your finger for scaling. She certainly does appear to have been busy judging by the messy web she resides in, but I suppose, she is feeding for several!! Great details and clarity. xx
I don't know that I would have put my finger that close to her, but it certainly a great comparison to see the size of her. Superb capture and wonderfully detailed. Bunny
Thanks for giving us a reference as to the size Lee, that is one impressive spider and another first class image. You must have a very steady hand, to get so close and not damage the webb, like I would have done. Thanks for the mail and info.
Nice work!
Beautiful closeup.
Beautiful insect...and how brave u are.
