Description
I took this shot while standing under the Deception Pass Bridge, on the South side (on Whidbey Island) looking North and a little bit West. It feels much safer here than up on the bridge deck! There are signs posted that say, "CLIMBING ON BRIDGE IS PROHIBITED." You don't have to tell me twice. No way am I climbing out on that thing!
If you want to learn more about the bridge, you can check out this site:

I hope you've enjoyed this little series. Deception Pass Bridge is a fascinating place. If you ever get up to this neck of the woods, check it out!

Oh on whidbey island. I think I viewed these pictures 3,2,1 instead of 1,2,3 lol. Very nice series. I would love to take pictures of this bridge. Very nice
Unique view and perfect title to go with it. Actually, those beams look perfect for climbing. Probably a good thing I wasn't there... Beautiful POV and capture!
Looks just like I remember...maybe I'll look for the picture Larry took and post it....Looks like it was a gorgeous day....Nice view.
Awesome shot!!
Yes beautiful shot and reminds me of building wild bridges with my brother's Erector Set when I was very small. Thanks for the memories!
Quite difficult to take a picture of that kind of bridge. Bravo !
Brilliant! The contrast if the steel work to the beautiful background is wonderful! 5+
Amazing work!
OHHHH DEARRR ! I am glad I am sitting here on my chair..... It looks too high for me. I dont think I at all could make my self to come up on bridge deck :))) Such a fantastic shot and view and I like it very much. :)))
Wow it looks so beautiful but i cant stand heights no way could i step onto such an open bridge i cant even walk across london bridge but it looks an amazing place hugs lou x
Wow what a complicated looking bridge! Super POV and photo, well done!
I love photo's of structures, this one is fantastic. I can visualise the men working on it, climbing up and down the beams, hammering the rivets home. At the end of the day actually having a feeling of satisfaction at a job well done. Brilliant picture great pov, its got to be a fav for me. +++++5+++++
wonderful shot and structural pov
All you need now is three billy-goats! Fantastic POV of this architecture!
The climb sounds tempting though, does it not?.......and all those ready made monkey bars! This is a great photo.
Very nice capture!
Excellent POV!!!!!!! The part about Whidbey Island that gets to me is, only two ways off, bridge on the north side and ferry on the south... If those two ever fail, you've got a trapped feeling!!!! And many times there's been an accident on the bridge and it was closed, and the ferry out for some reason or another... usually for repairs... sorry for the ramble, it just reminded me...
it reminds me of my mechano building days ..... very interesting picture
Beautiful...
an awesome display of a huge Erector set. impressive bridge
Erector set indeed! You employed a fine POV and DOF to capture this magnificent structure, with its myriad of bars, beams, girders, etc., depicting an awesome geometric tour de force. In viewing these great wonders in the comfort of the home, most people don't realize the effects of the wind, the noise from vehicles thundering by at breakneck speed, the concentration it takes to acquire the most advantageous angle standing in an unfamiliar ambiance to photograph the image. Well done, auntie!!!
Beautiful image, Tara I really like the colors
Fabulous title!!! Great pov.
Excellent POV, Tara. I have a similar shot from a trip up that way last summer. Well done.
beautiful:)
The trolls get all the choice views! I would have fun climbing there, impressive architecture.
Love this metal constraction. Great pov as well to make it unique.
