Description
G'day All!
Here's a guy that has a face that only a mother could love :)This is a Cassowary though isn't your best looking bird but is one of the dangerous.
Cassowaries stand 1.2 to 1.8 m (about 4 to 6 ft) high and can run as fast as 48 km/h (30 mph) when frightened. Their inner toes bear long, straight, knifelike nails, which are deadly defense weapons. The loose, hairlike body plumage is brownish-black; the head and neck are bare and brightly colored in various combinations of red, yellow, and blue. The top of the head bears a large, bony crest.
Hope you all are enjoying your weekend where ever you are :)
Thank you for your comments and I can tell you that they are always greatly appreciated :)
Take care
Shane

Nice details and colours. Love this shot!
ROFL - that's true only his mom could love this. From the way you discribe him he sounds like he's a few notches down on evolution and is still abit of a dinosaur... Wondrful shot and words.
He really has beautiful colors but that thing on his head is weird. At first I thought he was wearing a hat lol. Wonderful lighting and capture.
A beautiful detailed capture!

Wonderful colors, textures and details. They aren't a bird to be taken lightly for sure. Excellent capture. Bunny
Never knew such a creature existed! Modern (?) relative of the v-raptors perhaps??? Aside from the curious subject, wonderful capture~ Thanks for sharing!
The details here are excellent. I love it. The pov and lighting work perfectly. Good shot.
fabulous shot of him...at our parks and waterholes up here, there are signs for either crocs or cassowarys, very dangerous indeed if crossed!
As you say, not the prettiest of God's creatures but you have managed to take a cracking shot. Love the detail and colours. Bravo!
Very nice...
