Description
Synopsis:
In book two of The B'ha'an ["Box of Power" or "Power-Box"] the human, Newman, is separated from the Orange H'lomeh, Sha'a'an, and for two years they each struggle by different routes to reach the New Lands. When they are finally reunited, he also meets the sisters of the Orange and stays with them on their family's traditional range for raising their lupah herds. By then, the sisters realize that Newman is truly Hey-yumshio-ka, the messianic Gift from the Sea and that soon they will all be his wives. During that idyllic summer, Liiih and Omanii also become Newman's lovers. The oldest of the sisters, Rey'ch'el, is put off by his alien features and ways. She also realizes that with marriage to all of them that he will usurp her position as head of their family. However, she is solicitous toward him in all other ways, treating him with courtesy and eventually with a deep respect.
In the autumn, Liiih heads out for T'la-hoom-bal, the H'lomeh capital to prepare their home for the arrival of the others. A few trine [their 8-day week] later, Newman and the others gathered up the family's lupah herds and head for T'la-hoom-bal. When they arrive, Newman discovers that the family estate is large and palatial.
From the manuscript:
"Newman spent the night with Liiih in her apartment. He went with her eagerly enough. There had been no lovemaking with anybody during the bunchup and drive [of the lupah] to the capital. Between that deprivation, the Green's earlier ministrations, his nap, the excellent dinner, and the refreshing bath, he was more than ready to pay attention to her voluptuous pale green body. They made love leisurely; and only once. He found himself more tired than he thought. Liiih was content as well. She had been up before dawnlight, preparing their welcome feast. The Green, snuggling her head against his chest, fell asleep before he did."

I like this very much....and I am reminded how similar our goals are....you create pictures to illustrate your stories, and my pictures are also to illustrate mine. And we both create alien worlds....kudos to us both!
