Description
I found this interesting plant at UBC, (thriving on the hottest day for 40 years!) Can anyone identify it for me?
It is a good 5' tall, and seems to sprout from a nest of large serrated leaves at the base.
Thanks for any suggestions....;)

Beautiful capture !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We called those an Elephant Ear plant. We had one growing in our garden when I was a kid. I don't know the Latin word for them, though.
Its not quite the same as what we used to call elephant ear but I guess names for plants are regional. I have seen something similar in parks around here. They seem to do very well. Nice shot.
great foto
Oh yes, indeedy! That is the carniverous variety of the fascinating whatchamacallit! (Ummm yeah - I got nothin'. But it's very nice!) :)
