Description
This photo shows one of the lilypad formations; I still don't quite get how the tubular formation grew sideways before turning upright. It was the oldest room in the cave and the closest to the surface, hence all the water.
What surprised me was how the water level had to have stayed the same for an incredible time to allow the pads to form; considering all the variations in climate that's amazing.
The water really is that clear; the clearest I've ever seen was the Bonne Terre lead mine, which being an artificial cave (and long since mined out) the water has hardly anything in it and was transparent to at least twenty feet.

This is quite an image. One marvels at the creativity of nature. As you mentioned, the water really is the most intriguing part of this picture. I have never seen water so clear under such circumstances.
I been many caves in my life I have not seen this formation yet...thanks to show this formation. Amazing shot.

Caves are very cool. I've seen water like that in the "Caves of Drach" in Mallorca. I like the lighting too. Great photo.
