Description

Humanity's First Interstellar War is heating up. The lack of any purpose-built warships has forced each side to improvise, resulting in most of the action being raids on each other's supply lines. The development of semi-autonomous missiles enabled transports to be used as raiders, intensifying the conflict. In response, Vanguard Industries, maker of the most commonly used cargo transports, developed a module for addition to a standard transport to enable it to serve as an escort. This is the closest yet to a warship designed for that purpose. This is one of the first engagements such a frigate fought. While one transport broke from the main convoy in a failed effort to slingshot around the planet, the main convoy gathered close to their escort, who furiously dropped decoy flares and fired lasers. One decoy has successfully taken out a missile, while a laser has just scored a hit on its target. The other missiles continue to close... This is still a part of my ongoing effort to try to develop weapons and tactics for a space battle in the not-so-far future. I like the starfield more in this one, but the explosions aren't quite so satisfying for me. At least this time it's the missiles getting it instead of the starships! High quality and imaginative Sci-Fi art creation! To me explosions in space would be much like these are, sort of like nubula, rather than what a planet with atmosphere explosion would look like. Excellent plant, planet atmosphere, wonderful and detail spaceships, fine explosions, and superb overall scene composition!!!

Groovy!! great scene! I hate doing explosions myself, they are bloody tricky to do! Those are some of the best ones I've seen so far. Excellent background and planet as well!
