I love creating art with vampires. For some reason they fascinate me! And I think the whole "Goth" look fits in perfectly with them, which is what I attempted here. Did I succeed? Let me know. This piece began as just a vamiric couple, but by the time I was done, I saw an unexpected element of sadness in them. In this piece, I can see them as realizing that for some reason we do not know, their lives (or would that be "un-lives"?) are coming to an end. The female clings to her mate, unsure of what to expect, having prowled the night with him for years beyond number, while he comforts her, and defiantly faces his own newly realized mortality. I see this as a moment of uncertainty and fear for them both, and I find myself feeling almost sad for them.
