The Pied Imperial-pigeon, (Ducula bicolor) also known as the Nutmeg Pigeon, Torresian Imperial-pigeon or Torres Strait Pigeon is a large pigeon which is a widespread resident breeding bird on mainly small islands adjoining the Indian Ocean from the Nicobars in an arc to New Guinea, and Australia, where it is now a protected species and making a comeback..
