Description
The Willow Ptarmigan is white in Winter, brown in Summer, and in between, he's, well, in between.
I would've walked right by him if the park ranger hadn't pointed him out, deep in a thicket in Exit Glacier Park, near Seward, AK.
He had his bride stashed nearby, but she chose not to pose.

love those eyebrows. Alaska has lots of species from which to choose, eh? Personally I dig a puffin.
