Description
Captured 10/29/06 at the Auto & Copter Expo held annually at the beautiful Armed Forces Reserve Center in beautiful Los Alamitos, California.
Love this stuff! Paint it black and we have another Batmobile!
Yes, beautiful to behold, but how would you like to pay the insurance and license fee on this elegantly sculptured Chevy Corvette, which probably gets only about 11 miles to the gallon.
With the doors in that particular position, I almost titled the shot, My Butterfly for the day #6. Kind of looks like it has wings like a butterfly.
Speaking of the doors, I'm no engineer, but isn't there tremendous stress on the hinge in that position? Or are the doors -- and body -- constructed of some kind of super lightweight hitech nanocarbon composite?
Fortunately, I was able to capture it without a mass of onlookers hovering over it, blocking my view.
To make the vehicle pop out, I also blurred the background on this one. Make no mistake about it, POSTWORK LIVES!
Thank you for all of the kind and uncritical comments on my previous postings.

the doors are "Lambo hinge kits" and are designed to hold the weight.. Not too expensive... www.verticaldoors.com. They make kits for just abour every vehicle....even huge SUV's!!!! As far as the body kit, it's one of the best I've seen! Looks like there are no seams for the hood meaning the whole front end opens as one piece! Maybe a Calloway Corvette conversion.....Excellent find and awesome shot!!!!!! I'm not a huge fan of the Corvette or ANY GM product for that matter.....But you got a great shot here! ;) -chachi
excellent!!! very nice auto!!
Oh can I be a Goddess please?? Or, better still, it's my birthday in a week - can I have one wrapped in a pretty purple bow?? Stunning car, stunning capture, stunning postwork. Indeed one for anybody's gallery!! xx
Read about this vette...super that you got to see it in person. Now how about a test drive?
Corvette emblem on the hood. Beautiful car! I would not have noticed the seamlessness of the kit without help from chachi, but now that I've seen the light, so to speak, I'm totally impressed! The ground effects are beautiful too, but make me think of the hazard of speed bumps. Excellent shot! You had me looking at your subject without noticing anything else for quite a while, which I think is the mark of a stellar photo.
bet it goes fast. real goo pov and postwork too
I bet that sucker cost a lotta dough!
Too much car for me. I had a porshe once and it was constantly providing temptation. Always getting away from me. So I took it to the drag strip one Saturday night, made my 3 qualifying time trials and feature race. Got a first place trophy and sold that sucker before I killed myself it. :-O Nothing bigger than an Escort for me now. LOL. Nice shot.
WOOOOWWWW. Impressive colours and lovely car.
Someone gave me that book by Erik Danken to read. They really believed it about ancient landing zones on Peruvian mountain tops. I myself took over the LEMs and cars on the moon on behalf of Physics that they should not fly off and come crashing back to earth. (What goes up must come down?) I'm not really into old wives tales.
Heeyy...you got some "welcome to the future" car too. Great stuff Harry. I have to buy a lotto ticket quickly...LOL
Beautiful :)
wow what a beautiful car...sorry for the delay, I have a bit a lack in commenting
