Description
My Audubon guide calls the Green Heron "solitary and wary," but this guy apparently hadn't gotten the memo.
Captured this morning at Vasona Park in Los Gatos, CA, where the critters are all habituated to people, and love to pose!

And a perfect pose it is too! Brilliant shot with so much detail. Excellent capture. xx
excellent capture. they are cool creatures as long as you're not a frog or tadpole. :)

Nice capture, haven't seen a green heron before, thanks for the share Stuart
Wonderful! I have looked for these but never found one. Great to see this closeup!
it's the deaf and colorblind one, he looks a tad more orange than green! I'm sure your photo is accurate and also it's pleasant to see!
This is such a sweet shot! maybe the rest of them will forget to read their memos and we can all start getting shots like this one!
very nice shot, i agree with lemonjim about the green.
