Description
As day light came, Brave Terry went ahead to find some new lava ooze. Eventually he called and off we went. We caught up with Terry and found this fresh active lava ooze. Just a note, along the way, there were some pretty brittle hot spot areas that I had to redirect our guest from following the same path as Terry. Just to prove my point to our guest, I tapped the ground and splashed some water. The ground felt hallow below (please don't collapse) and the splash of water turned into instant steam upon contact (fresh lava beneath us). If you look between the cracks, you could see the red lava below our feet. I led them thru a cooler and safer path to here. Aloha and thank you for viewing

Egads, that makes me shivver .. Your guest is mighty lucky to have a guide such as yourself and brave Terry L Great shot!!! TY for sharing
Another wonderful lava shot. I pray that you are careful when taking these pics - but I'm sure you know what you are doing. I love the textures on the lava - superb!! xx
I'm so glad you're serious about safety on these trips. And as always, thank you for sharing this fascinating place with us.
Another great shot. If my son decides to visit, you have to take us with you. I'm willing. Aloha
I like these stories...keep reminds me you guy walking on lava crust. Great shot again!
Excellent lava shot with gray against fire. I can't help but see a large bear semi-flattened roadkill with his tongue hanging out. Gorgeous colors.
lol....I was thinking elephant my self. Aloha
Always fascinating these lava oozes.
Excellent capture, really like the textures & your POV on this one Stuart
As always a spectacular pic. Take care Errol.
Don't know how you do it?!?! Melted shoes and all.Great capture again! :B eaver !
I admire you for finding the soft places in the lava. Its definitely one of those things that you have to be aware of if you walk near hot lava. Nice shot.
This is such a cool series - thanks for sharing it with us!
I love this series if yours. It is something I am sure I will never have the opportunity to see first hand, so thank you very much for sharing this amazing piece of mother nature with us. Eileen xxx
I wonder how it looks the landscape, the big picture of this place! Does it looks like the inferno or the hell looks like it?
Yeah...I'm guessing a collapse wouldn't be a good thing. Amazing how it can be beautiful and so deadly at the same time. :)
Ionel....At nights, you can see the surface lava glowing from the path it has taken. There are particular some areas that are really red and those are the ones we head for if possible. When day light comes, most of the mass redness disappears except if you are standing close to a lava ooze. From the truck parking lot, you can very much see a river of red glow. But day time, you wouldn't think there is a lava flow coming down from the hill. Hope I answered your question. Maybe one day I'll get the Big Picture at nights and days for comparison. Aloha
As I understand it very dangerously, you the courageous person who shows so beautiful stage. Full extreme.
Yikes -- a scary story...glad you traversed the field safely.
Wow ... sounds incredibly scary for those who don't know what they are doing. Good they had you to guide them!
A wonderful shot, Errol. So incredible these walks. Thank you for keeping your friends and yourself safe.. and Brave Terry too. Aloha. Diane.
I bet your boot person loves you. do you retread or buy new ones. I have no doubt any given time you are in danger around the lava. I would think day lite could be more dangerous than night from not knowing what is hot
An adventure story worthy of Raiders of the Lost Ark or King Solomon's Mines! Never a dull moment cavorting about the lava fields! Excellent detail, textures, contrast and POV in this magnificent capture, my friend! Aloha!
wow I happy to know you safe and all with you too. I see a wave of the sea here as if comes in and reach it farest way on the sand then turns to go back into the sea and the wave behind it flows on top of the wave going out.
That sounds scary! Beautiful in a wicked and frightning way :-)
adventurious and brilliant as always. take care
i dont collapse for this grey and "komplent" colors. i love it! lg. lordlotte
