Interesting, reminds me of a rock version of a pseudopod, which is a"false foot" that single celled organisms make when they move.

I really like the look of this one with the lava creeping down the existing flow and that piece that it picked up on the way sitting lightly on top of it. :)
Well, to me it looks like a giant fiery hand or paw grasping the cooled lava. Superb colors and textural effects in another one of your fabulous lava photos!
