Description

I did this image for a contest but missed the dead line. At least now I have 2 new characters to play with!*** I modeled the Spook Tree and the Tin Man in Rhino. There are no bones in either one right now,But Im workin on it! There are also a few flaws here and there i want to improve on.I textured them in poser back and forth between rhino fliping normals.(took me awhile to figure that one out) some of the textures were on the inside of the mesh.Just had to select the offending mesh and type flip in the command line. Phew! Any way !!! Thank you for any comments and or suggestions. Happy Rendering Johnny 5ive

Good stuff. I think if you let the characters cast shadows on the road it will help to "ground" them better in the image. From the background, it seems to be night time but the light is quite intense. Nice tree texture!

You are way ahead of me on modeling, cool stuff. I expect you'll figure out rigging pretty easily (me, it'll be a looooong time). You might think about making Dorothy's hand posing and expression a bit more natural, and come to think of it, you really should consider morphing her face a bit so she's not quite so recognizably G2. Nice textures on Tin Man as well.

Very nice modelling indeed. As pjz99 said, don't forget the shadows as they are very good for 'grounding' figures in an image.

Nice job on the models. I don't know if it was your intent, but it looks like they are tipping, and in Dorothy's case losing her balance and nearly falling, down an incline; as well as reacting in fear. I agree about the shadows. It could make it a more sinister scene.

Very good character reenactment here! I know what it's like having a bad back. I've had one for years with several bad and compressed disks, to the point of my leg going knumb every night at about 8:00 pm. I too had a turn-around and am still trying to adjust. It's great to see that you have your music as well. I've been playing for almost 50 years now and had some pretty good bands back in the 60's, 70's and 80's. After that, I mainly played in church bands until I took a bit of a break. If you're ever down in S.F., please let me know and we can possibly jam. Take care and keep up the good work! Rich

DangerousThing had some personal problems and had to leave the TAG turnament... he just contacted me a couple hours ago. He told me he wanted to pick you... so, I'm going to put a picture or two of his together and a little bit of this and that from you as if DangerousThing TAGGED you... I'll try and get something together pretty soon, but I thought I'd give you some time to think about who you want to get on the list.... let me post first before you do so they go in order... just trying to come up with ideas now. DangerousThing only has a page of uploads, not much to work with, but it'll be challenging - lol ... I'm not using this picture, just stopped here because I've seen your thumb a couple times and thought for sure I left a comment... Did you ever get bones in the tree? Funny you had this, cause a week about I was thinking of a killer tree and thought of this scene - lol... That tree in wizard of oz was pretty grumpy, I wonder what would of happened to dorothy if it would of got a twig on her = lol
