Description
Akaka Falls is on the northeast side of the island, not very far from Hilo. It has a drop of 420 ft (128 m).
You have to see this area in person to appreciate how lush and beautiful it is. Oregon is really green, but no comparison with all the rain this side of the island gets combined with tropical temperatures.
