Description
In our walks thru the lava fields and volcano area, we have always showed much respect to the Hawaiian Fire Goddess named "Pele." Our parents and grandparents says show respect for her land. I believe in God the Almighty...........yet that part of my growing up says show respect for Pele. I always share this belief with Brave Terry on all of our hikes. He shows great respect. And when we return safely to our vehicles, we say thanks for bringing us safely back home. Hugs, shake hands and give thanks to Pele. I apologize to those who wanted to use my lava images for some art work, but I cannot say yes. Bad luck would be in for us both. I can only show you the beauty of what Pele has given us thru my eyes. And I believe "Dennis" is doing the same without saying. Kalamai I'au.........sorry. Aloha and thank you for viewing

as beautiful as it is dangerous. Pele or no Pele you have nerves of steel hiking among the rivers of fire
Beautiful picture and philosophy. It's nice to be reminded that some people still respect this Earth.
Wow, you learn something new every day. When I read Pele, I thought you were referring to the South American soccer legend. The photo looks like a giant nebula in outer space seen through the Hubble telescope. I especially like the shape of the fiery portion of the lava. And, I agree with yesitis3 when it comes to having nerves of steel in photographing this super hot phenomena.
so super looking here. thanks for showing them.
I like this attitude towards a fire goddess. You two always coming back safe. Great shot again, and to play a bit I see an eagle head in a hot lava. Aloha
Admirable philosophy, and when you're dealing with lava you don't want to risk bad luck!
O'siyo .. You are good to show respect! Walk softly on mother earth. This is a terrific capture and I too see a mighty eagle head in that lava. Wado for the many wonderful photos you share sharky_!
Wow what an amazing place, just such an awesome photo.
It would seem to me that it's a dangerous pastime without getting the Gods angry! Cool shot once again my friend!!
Fantastic photo sharky!!! The magnificent beauty and power of mother earth is unmatched. Thanks for sharing and Aloha.
Errol, thank you so much for sharing this magic & powerful place with us, we all should respect the earth and its legends. Another brilliant shot of this lava!!! Excellent work my friend... Aloha...
Our respect was learned at as children and has continued into adult hood. It is our duty to perpetuate the respect to our children, and others that might take it lightly. Another great shot here Sharky~ Aloha~
Another wonderful shot, Errol. Too bad I didn't get a chance to burn the hair off my legs with you. :-) Mahalo for the link to my gallery. You're right, I share your sentiment about only wanting to share the beauty. As onefeather said, "Walk softly on mother earth." Or as we say here in Oregon, "Leave only footprints, take only photographs."
Man! That is a very long series i guess! Thats another amazing shot my friend! Thank you for the share JOE
