Description
I read a story in the WSJ about a man who has taken over garbage collecting and street cleaning in the French Quarter based on Katrina cleanup work he contracted for. I had forgotten about him until just now but maybe that is the real genesis of this image. In my mind was our trash contractor in Troy who was caught gambling before the Indian Casinos and the day I sent the old mattress out by ordering the "nine yard" trailer. Two of the trees are by ZIPPY'S TREES in freestuff and one is the "wind tree" same source. The truck is from Content Paradise in the sports cars for P6. It needs smooth polygons to avoid texture artifacts. The garbage cans are made in Carrara from my memory of a Wheeling-Pittsburgh design I have handled. They are specially sub-divided in the vertical straight area to avoid bulging in Poser under "smooth polygons" to work with the truck. The pose is mine and is of a possible "hanging out in nonchallance" series.

Fantastic modelling and impressive work Dale....!!!!
the first time I seen this truck.James is back to his roots of manual labor. excellent modeling of the cans and pose of Jaime
Nice work!
Hope they don't make too much noise... people are still sleeping!! Excellent work on this scene!!
"My old man's a dustman" is now rattling around in my head. Excellent image - what's it say on those trucks though? ;)
Cool scene, good modelling on the trash cans. Sweet render!!
Dear Dale, This is getting to be a rarer and rare sight. A lot the communities how have the wheeled carts that the trucks pick up and dump. They days of the guys riding the back seem to be fading away! Very nice job with the cans!!! I've seen the same sculpted sides before!!! Super work on the entire scene!!!! Love ya!!! Meredith
Great manga truck!!! I love it. Very well done.
I wish my dustbin [garbage can] gleamed like these. I played 'kick-can' as a kid on Mischief Night [the Brit forerunner of Hallowe'en], though 'kick' was a misnomer - we tied them together and attached them to a 'rag-and-bone' man's donkey cart. Wonderfully noisy! Mike
I'm thinking about a story :)
so much nicer looking then what we have, excellent work on this ;)
