Description
When I first encountered this card I asked "WTF is a Heirophant?" so don't feel bad if you didn't know, I had to look it up once myself.
The Hierophant represents spiritual leadership. It is, in a sense, one of the more religious cards of the Tarot. Although it can be taken to mean any sort of spirituality, most early decks relied heavily on Christian imagery and themes. In fact, many decks call this card The Pope.
Up until now I've been posting these without a card frame. I got to thinking that this is kind of silly, since I was going and putting them in frames afterward anyway. So, from now on you get the card, frame and all.
Rendered in D|S with postwork in Photoshop and Fireworks.
Thanks for looking. And thanks to everyone who took time to wish me a happy birthday yesterday and look at my gallery at Shanpoo's urging. You all really helped cheer up a guy who was kinda down on becoming middle-aged.

Powerful and well made artwork with a nice and educational write up. Your art is making learning this topic, Tarot, a lot of fun. I just hope any test is open image . . . Excellent art!
I'm glad that Shannon pointed out that it was your birthday, she's about the best friend anyone could have here. Another great render in your Tarot series. One thing that stands out for me about these is how you are so dedicated to it and haven't been distracted away from it. I'm constantly starting things only to abandon them. Great addition to an already diverse collection!
