I am not sure that my title is correct but I thought about bad water demon. In the polish folklore his name is "utopiec"

Quite scary! but so beautifully painted that aesthetics win! "Utopiec" might be the same demon as we have in Finland called Nki or Vesihiisi - I can't translate them either in English. He can though take you under water if you're not careful enough. HUH! Great greyish, menacing atmosphere in your picture.
