Description
Here's another view of the Space Shuttle Trainer at Johnson Space Center circa 1990. This is the week to remember the astronauts who perished in Apollo 1 on Jan. 27, 1967, Challenger on Jan. 28, 1986, and Columbia on Feb. 1, 2003. I'm a firm believer in space exploration and respect the discoveries and sacrifices of the bold explorers of NASA and the Russian space program.

I grew up almost across the street from Johnson Space Center and, in fact, my best friend's mother was the Manager of the Ramada Inn on Nasa 1. I spent months at a time there for many years. I loved talking with the foreign correspondants that came to cover the launches, and when my friend and I were in our teens, we even babysat for the astronauts' families. :-) Great photo of this training equipment.
I am constantly in awe of our ability to travel to space, especially after having watched a few shuttle launches! Great shot! reminds me I need to post the september Atlantis launch here.
Great POV and a I agree on remembering those willing to pay the ultimate price to explore way beyond our wildest dreams. It must be exhilerating to touch the equipment they may have used.

I recall hearing the explosion while eating breakfast.if it had not been so chilly that morning I would have been outside. still I could see the smoke plumes it seems like they have an ideal job,but they are sitting on a powder keg that could go off anytime
