Description
Wow, this is a US ARMY 2-1/2 ton wrecker from the Cold War Era. The amazing part is that it is still operational. The question is, what is it doing in French West Africa? Answer: currently, 70% of the cocoa used to make chocolate in the United States comes from Cote D' Ivoire. At present, Cote D' Ivoire is in the middle of a civil war. However, before the war, the United States helped train and supply the Cote D' Ivoire military in order to promote stability in the region and prevent interuptions in U.S. chocolate production. Eventually, the wrecker's normal service life expired and it was sold to a civilian mechanic who has taken fairly good care of it. Sorry the photo is part blurred ;)

Kool looking truck, nice to see it still in service ^^
You DO get around! Properly cared for, these things should last a long long time. They were built pretty darn rugged, so as long as spares can be found, or made, it should be chugging for some time to come. You find really interesting stuff to post. Just wanna say 'thanks!'
Those deuces are monsters. Designed for long life. It's obviously a Diesel. Try to stop it!!
