Description

These are trotters, purchased by the Amish people to pull their buggies. This is a good life for horses no longer on the track but with a new family home. These horses want to move all the time, energetic! The distinctive sound of their hooves on the roads is pleasing, indeed. Shot a year ago. Now rediscovered in my files and posted here..enjoy.

I never rode a trotter but I spent some time riding percherons. Back when I was small, the amish had percherons as their work animals. When they rode through the neighborhood in their wagons they used a different horse but I'm not sure what type. This is a lovely shot of these horses.
