Description
To answer Jocko's question..."Are there quartz or important minerals in the lava rocks?" Yes. Gold, Diamonds and other gems have been found in volcanoes in different countries (don't know if any found here in Hawaii). See "Benefits of Volcanoes" . Cinder mix are much used with plants. As for this particular lava rock, I don't know if it was gold or not but it sure stood out shining catching my attention. Would I take it home if it was Gold???? No! Our Hawaiian Beliefs passed down from our parents and my own experience taught us to leave it alone. The basic word for this is "Respect". Aloha and thank you for viewing

Oh wow thats so beautiful.
Why not?... Excellent picture on this interesting texture and very nice color !!! Aloha :)
So excellent capture, so wonderful render too!
Excellent textures and subdued colours. I agree with your beliefs...
A true beauty, so you do not ever pick up a piece of lava rock and take it home? [=
Dinhi...Will not take home anything from this particular area known as the Home of Pele, our Hawaiian fire Goddess. You would be surprise of how much mail we receive from people all over the world returning back lava rocks taken from Hawaii. Check this out.. "Redurned Lava Rocks" . Aloha
I have heard much about the revenge of Pele or whatever it is called. I understand sacred lands and native beliefs. Interesting shot of this rock.
Wonderful capture, very sound thinking too. Wish more people on our planet held these beliefs as scared. Hugs. Diane.
Very interesting! Super!*****!
Have you foud a dollar for me ? excellent and interessing shot!! great!!
Great shot, interesting information about this, nice texture and the shine its curious!!!
Great capture, interesting stories of ppl how have had bad luck & returned the lava rock, one would have to say........serves themselves right, check local customs & laws before removing anything, they also show no respect for locals & there own laws & customs. Stuart
I respect and understand now. Thanks for the information. At less you can take a photo of it and that is worth memorys which is worth more than gold.
a most fascinating and interesting nature texture !i like this kind of shots ! ALOHA #:O) ^^^^^^^^
Very nice picture! I like the texture in the lava rocks. Aloha
nice details......interesting info
Admirable you are. I think alot of people would take it. This is one interesting find you captured.
It could be gold or it could be pyrite. Here in the midwest U.S. lots of kids and some adults pick up pyrite and think they've hit pay dirt, only to find out later it's just a shiny rock. Still, leaving alone lets the next person be able to see and appreciate it.
Don't piss of Pele, leave it be. Great info and capture Errol!
So interesting...
very intersting find, Errol, and thanks for sharing and I have great respect for your beliefs
Don't make the goddess mad, Pele has a temper you know!!!!! very cool find Errol!!!! Aloha!!!!
