I wonder what the purpose of the nitric acid pool is? Do you suppose it is to cleanse the air/atmosphere that is brought in perhaps from where ever it the ship has stopped? Part of the air/atomosphere conditioning? And where does all the conditioned air go? Back to the ships home planet? To a new colony? Nevertheless, it is a most maginficent room. Still .. ones wonders ...
