The real question is, "how big would the equivalent power turbine be?" Dragster engines if they genuinely make 5000hp might actually be a smaller reciprocating form due to their short term burst power. Certainly a 1000hp turbine would be smaller than the expected size of a 1000hp piston engine. So nice to have the warm day to ponder philosophy in a practical setting.
