Description
A few years ago I downloaded this great Deathstar texture from Scifi3d.com and finally decided to wrap it around a Booleaned sphere. This is the result.

Excellent.
Kool Star Wars legacy and the weathering looks great ! ~Cheers~ :o)
Excellente image de SciFi.
Yep, that one looks good. Nice Star Wars pic.
Thanks for your kind comments. I have been editing this image several times since posting it here. First, I changed the sky to something a little more realistic, using my old skydome, then all of the tiny little problems that bugged me. CS2 layers to the rescue! I'm all better now :-) and will leave it as it is. Thanks again for looking, and have a wonderful and creative 2007.
Hey pixeltek. Nice pic man. How did u do the blue thrusts on those X-wings?
Wonderful! Excellent tribute to the Star Wars legacy. The Deathstar texture is great, love the blue jet streams emitted by the ships!
A lot of people here and elsewhere commented on the exhausts plumes. Since f-prime won't do glow effects, I ended up using PS/CS2 to create them. I use luminous cones as plumes and then copy them with the magic wand to different layers and use the PS/CS2 motion blur filter to extend them, with a little smear tool added. Maybe cumbersome, but by now I like it even better than the plain glow effect as exhaust.
Very beautiful
Impressive formation and great effects, excellent job ^^
Great stuff as always. More more
These numerous rows of tiny windows make a perfect impression of its dimensions! I was really amazed by these early Star Wars films. Imagine I was 8 or so that time-a perfect age to cross the borders of new worlds:)
Takes me right back to '77 when I first watched Star Wars - top work.
WoW This is something else !!
Faszinierend.....sehr gelungene Sci-Fi. Szene !!! Bitte weiter so, lieber Karl :) L.G. Karin:)
