Description

20 some years ago the owner of this hardware store died while at the store. He was removed for obvious reasons and his son locked the door with money still in the cash register and a 1/2 pot of coffee. nothing has been changed since that day. the same dust is there undisturbed. from the window I could see three easy chairs for the owner and local friends to pass the time of day talking. I have other pictures that I shot through the windows. I will post some other time I hope your Sunday is going really well and thanks for your visit and comments

Might be that the late owner is still hanging out in there and scares off anyone who tried to clean up his shop? Great capture and can't wait to see what other photos you have from this curious place !!~BRAVO~!!

I'm glad the son didn't move anything. This s a wonderful slice of the past. Perhaps the local preservation society will want to retsore the store to its former glory. Nothing like a time capsule.

I love these old buildings, especially when the history is known. This is a great photo that immediatly brought memories of my childhood with my grandparents. I can see them now in the old store greeting longtime friends....

Fascinating to say the least. The use of b/w photography heightens the mood. One can't help but wonder if the place is a bit haunted, especially around this time of year. Excellent work!

What a glimpse in time. We just had a store close here that used to drag so much merchandise out to the street everyday. No more though. Excellent Richard..........
